You've probably got a Pinterest board full of golden light, wildflowers, and a veil catching the wind. Or maybe you don't care about any of that… you just want photos that actually feel like your wedding day, not someone else's. Either way, you're here, which means you're looking for someone who gets it.

I'm Steph. I've been behind a camera for over 20 years, since a high school darkroom. I shot my first roll of black-and-white film and never really stopped. I still shoot film today, alongside digital, because there's something about it that slows everything down: the light, the moment, the way people actually look at each other when no one's rushing them into the next pose.

If your idea of a great photo is one nobody posed for, hi — we're going to get along!

I'm based on Salt Spring Island, where the light does something moody and soft that I can't get anywhere else. I shoot weddings here, there and anywhere you'll have me: barefoot on the beach, tucked into a forest, or somewhere with a hundred guests and string lights.

I'm not chasing the posed shot. I'm chasing the moment right before or right after it… the look between you two before you walk down the aisle, your grandmother laughing at something you didn't hear, the veil catching wind nobody planned for.
